Sherry McIntyre is a study in contradictions. Outwardly conservative, she is an active churchgoer and a devout Catholic. In private, she is an epideromancer with a taste for the erotic.

Sherry’s childhood was par for the middle class suburban course, until one fateful day she came home from school to find her house ransacked by thieves. Terrified that the outside world could so rudely intrude into her existence, Sherry spiraled into a depression. Her parents wrote her changed behavior off to the typical mood swings associated with adolescence. When she suddenly came out of her funk, that were simply glad that her depression had passed. The truth was a little more complicated. Sherry had taken to cutting herself, believing that a sacrifice on her part would appease whatever forces had brought chaos to her doorstep.

In college, a casual encounter with an older gentleman she met in a dive bar served as her introduction to epideromancy. After a night of bliss that included some inventive uses of the epideromantic school of magick, Sherry became an eager student of the school, even taking a year off from college in order to concentrate on her new studies. Outwardly, Sherry continued her conservative life, even going so far as to marry a nice Catholic boy she met through her parish. Privately, her skill at epideromancy climbed beyond her tutor’s. Bored with him, she took to picking up strangers on the Internet. That’s how she met Trent. Trent became Sherry’s personal project, her Pygmalion, and the two of them at times enjoyed and at others simply endured the relationship that grew between them. Sherry tried to keep her relationship with Trent a secret, but the pressure of living two lives finally proved too much for her when Trent left. Outraged that he could so flippantly throw away a relationship that she risked so much for, Sherry’s anger slowly began to boil. She arranged one last meeting with Trent, at which she cut her own hand off with a meat cleaver and laid her curse upon him. Trent called the paramedics before high tailing it out of town. Unfortunately for Sherry, she couldn’t escape so easily. The truth about her affair with Trent shattered her marriage, and given the evidence of her own self-mutilation (severed hands are sort of hard to cover up) she lost her teaching job.

Fresh out of the hospital, surrounded by people who finally realized that they never knew the real Sherry, she has decided to take to the road, find Trent, and do something with him. She isn’t sure if she’ll kill him or kiss him. All she knows is that someone who can make her cut her own hand off means something to her.
